ABOUT THIS PICTURE

This is an excerpt from an official almanac published yearly by the Electorate of Cologne, in both German and French editions. Each year, the official holidays, court protocols, and court personnel (including, luckily for music historians, the full roster of court musicians) were printed. This picture lists all of the musicians receiving a salary from the court in 1789, the year in which the Bonn theater reopened.
